The Mount Prospect Fire Department battled an explosion and fire late Sunday afternoon at 501 W. Algonquin Road.
The initial dispatch was for an activated fire alarm.
Upon arrival crews found one wall on 1/2 of the building had been blown out, the roof in and a fire.
A MABAS 2nd alarm was requested bringing in over 12 suburban Departments from MABAS Division's 1 & 3.
There was only 1 minor injury to an employee inside at the time.
The cause is under investigation.
