Shippensburg, Pennsylvania Firefighters Extinguish Car Fire

On Monday, May 26th, 2003, shortly after all three Shippensburg Fire Departments returned from a working garage fire, the Cumberland County 911 Center sent out another call for two of the three local departments.

On Monday, May 26th, 2003 (Memorial Day), shortly after all three Shippensburg Fire Departments returned from a working garage fire, the Cumberland County 911 Center sent out another call for two of the three local departments. At 1339 hrs local fire box 54-01 was dispatched for a reported vehicle fire at 301 Lurgan Avenue, Boro of Shippensburg, at the West End Service Center & Car Wash.

CO 54 West End Fire & Rescue and CO 53 Cumberland Valley Hose responded. Eng. 1-54 arrived first. Preconnect handline was pulled from Eng. 1-54 to attack the fire. Eng. 53 arrived and supplied Eng. 1-54. The fire apparently burnt and ruptured the fuel line on the car.
