Working Structure Fire in Heyworth, Illinois

On Thursday, July 14, 2005, at 10:25 pm, The Randolph Township Fire Department in Heyworth, Illinois was paged out to a working structure fire along with two mutual aid companies of Bloomington Township and Downs.

On Thursday, July 14, 2005, at 10:25 pm, The Randolph Township Fire Department in Heyworth, Illinois was paged out to a working structure fire along with two mutual aid companies of Bloomington Township and Downs.

Upon arrival of engine company 43, tankers 44 and 46, and support utility 42, 3 more mutual aid companies were requested.

Leroy was asked to bring a tanker, McLean brought a tanker and Wapella responded with a tanker and stood by at the scene with an engine.

Units operated for several hours to knock down the fire and hot spots.

The Heyworth Ambulance Service was on scene to provide support, rehab, and medical assistance if needed.

There were 48 firefighters on scene.

The fire was under control at 12:14 am.

The Illinois State Fire Marshall was called in to assist the department's investigator.

The home owners were home at the time of the fire, but suffered minor injuries.

The cause was electrical.
