Four Car Injury Accident, Entrapment in Santa Clara, California

Shortly after 5pm on Friday, July 15, 2005, there was a 4 car injury accident on Lafayette Street at Reeve in Santa Clara.

Shortly after 5pm on Friday, July 15, 2005, there was a 4 car injury accident on Lafayette Street at Reeve in Santa Clara.

Dispatch reported fluids leaking and possible entrapment.

Battalion 1 was first on scene and set up command.

One car received serious damage and the driver required to be extricated by the Santa Clara Fire Department.

Two other cars involved received mild to moderate damage but neither drivers required medical attention.

The 4th car involved in the accident fled the scene.

Police located the car a few blocks away and took the driver, who reported no medical complaints, into custody.

Lafayette Street was closed for roughly 45 minutes as crews cleared the accident. After being rescued, the victim in the heavily damaged car was transported to an area hospital.

Engine 1, Medic 1, Truck 2, Rescue 2, Battalion 1 all responded to the incident along with numerous police and detective units.
