Horsham Township, PA Firefighters Find Heavy Smoke Showing

At 15:18 hours on Tuesday, May 20, 2003, Stations 15 (Horsham), Squirt 99 (WGNAS), and Ladder 10 (Willow Grove) were dispatched to 7 Pebble Drive in Horsham Township, Montgomery County, Pa. for a dwelling fire.

At 15:18 hours on Tuesday, May 20, 2003, Stations 15 (Horsham), Squirt 99 (WGNAS), and Ladder 10 (Willow Grove) were dispatched to 7 Pebble Drive in Horsham Township, Montgomery County, Pa. for a dwelling fire.

Chief 15 arrived on scene and reported heavy smoke showing from a two story single family dwelling.

Squirt 99 went on location and placed a hand line in service for heavy fire in a second floor bedroom with fire extending to the roof.

Ladder 10 went in service to the roof. Initial reports from a neighbor stated a small child may be trapped inside. Those reports proved to be false.

The fire extended into the attic, with heavy fire blowing out of the rear attic vent.

Command deemed the building unsafe, so the evacuation tones were ordered. The bulk of the fire was knocked from the exterior.

Crews reentered the dwelling for salvage in overhaul. Numerous engines and trucks were special called into the scene to assist with manpower.
