California Fire Crews Fight Wildfire

Firefighters responded to a fire that originated behind Trevors Ct. in Lakeside, CA at about 3:30 pm. The fire has burned about 40 acres and is expected to be contained at about midnight.

Firefighters responded to a fire that originated behind Trevors Ct. in Lakeside, CA at about 3:30 pm. The fire has burned about 40 acres and is expected to be contained at about midnight.

Units from the entire county including CDF, US Forest Service, Heartland Fire, San Diego City, and Federal Fire were called in to assist. Also joining the fight against the fire were 2 CDF fixed wing aircraft and a helicopter along with San Diego County Sheriff's ASTREA helicopter.

The quick response of the Lakeside Fire Dept. in ordering additional strike teams helped save several homes that were immediately threatened by the fire.
