Krum Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire on Jackson Road in Denton County around 1:45pm.
Several thunderstorms were passing through the area at the time and Krum was already operating a grass fire.
Initial arriving units were met with heavy fire showing from roof on the street side of the home.
The resident, who escaped without injury, was at home at the time of the fire.
Assistance was called from Ponder, Sanger and Denton Fire Departments.
The fire is under investigation by the Denton County Fire Marshal
