The James City-Bruton Volunteer Department responded with two engines, two medics, one 75 ft. aerial scope, and one squad.

Mutual aid came from the James City County Fire Department and York County Fire Department. A total of 56 firefighters responded.

The warehouse was completely involved when first due companies arrived.

A 100,000 square ft. warehouse beside the burning warehouse was undamaged.

The cause of the fire is unknown.

Firefighters saved the adjacent warehouse and several smaller buildings close to the burned building.
