A house fire near Starkville, Miss. claimed the life of a woman on Feb. 19, while her son managed to escape the blaze.
The Oktoc Volunteer Fire Department responded to the incident at 2331 Williams Road in Oktibbeha County and found the house already engulfed in flames.
The State Fire Marshal's office was investigating the cause of the fire.
