Detroit Firefighters Respond to House Fire

Detroit, MI – On Wednesday, Feb. 23, companies from the 7th Battalion responded to the area of Central and Gartner on the report of a dwelling fire.  While en route Ladder 13's crew reported heavy smoke showing and the first engine would be stretching.  Command was passed to the next company.Two houses were involved, and crews requested that Squad 4 be prepared for search and rescue.

Command was passed to the next company.

Two houses were involved, and crews requested that Squad 4 be prepared for search and rescue.

  Chief 7 also requested an additional engine and squad above the box alarm.  Engine 10 and Squad 2 were dispatched. 

Firefighters used multiple handlines to bring this fire under control.  They worked for over an hour to do so.
