Milk Tankers Collide, Burn in Kansas

On the afternoon of Feb 15, Cherryvale Fire-Rescue units were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash on US 400 between Douglass Road and Elk Road in Labette County.  We found two milk tankers had collided nearly head-on.  Cherryvale Fire-Rescue cared for one patient and extinguished the semi fire while Osage township firefighters and Labette County EMS cared for another patient and attacked the other fire.Both patients were transported to Labette County Medical Center in Parsons Kansas.

Both patients were transported to Labette County Medical Center in Parsons Kansas.

The fires were brought under control within minutes.  Crews remained on scene for approximately an hour for overhaul.
