Arriving companies found heavy fire coming from a large two-and-a-half story wood frame attached to a barn and other structures.Due to the lack of hydrants in the town, a tanker operation was put into place. Three alarms were struck bringing in mutual aid from Bolton, Berlin, Harvard, Sudbury, Hudson, Clinton, and Boxborough.
It took firefighters over four hours to bring the fire under control with temperatures in the single digits.
Nobody was home at the time of the fire. The house is a total loss.
