Detroit Firefighters Respond to House Fire

Detroit, MI – January 17, 2011 Companies from the 6th Battalion responded to the area of Manning and Hickory on the report of a dwelling fire. Arriving on the scene E41 reported smoke from the upstairs of the 1.5 story dwelling at 19367 Pelkey and was investigating. Upon further investigation the Officer of E41 ordered the Engine to stretch, and reported they had fire in the upstairs and attic of the dwelling. C6 reported fire in a 1.5 story dwelling and he was holding all companies, and requested an additional company for R.I.T. Crews made a quick knock down on the fire and worked for over a half hour to bring this fire under control. E32(RIT)/38/41/46 L19 S3 and C6 worked on this box.
