New York Firefighters Free Pinned Woman

  Firefighters freed a woman who was pinned between two cars after she was helping a motorist in Mendon. The woman stopped to help a motorist whose vehicle slid off the road. A utility truck lost control and slid into her car, pinning the woman between her car the six-wheel truck. Crews used a truck-mounted winch to stabilize the 27,000 pound utility truck and other responders cut trees away from the area to help access the victim.

The woman stopped to help a motorist whose vehicle slid off the road. A utility truck lost control and slid into her car, pinning the woman between her car the six-wheel truck.

Crews used a truck-mounted winch to stabilize the 27,000 pound utility truck and other responders cut trees away from the area to help access the victim.

Firefighters utilized a variety of spreaders and ram tools to separate the vehicles, then utilized cribbing and freed the woman. It took about 45 minutes.

Firefighters from Honeoye Falls and Rush responded. EMS service was provided by the Honeoye Falls-Mendon Ambulance and Henrietta Volunteer Ambulance.

The woman sustained non-life threatening injuries.
