Minnesota Firefighters Extricate Woman From SUV

Firefighters had to extricate a woman who was trapped in her SUV after it collided head-on with tractor trailer in Inver Grove Heights on Monday.

The wreck occurred after a storm left Minnesota roads covered with a slick coating of snow and slush.

Inver Grove Heights firefighters and HealthEast paramedics responded to the crash on Robert Trail about 1:30 p.m. It occurred on a sharp curve in the road.

The impact caused heavy damage to the front of the SUV so crews needed to remove the door.

Firefighters from Rescue 10 and Engine 11 freed the woman in about 10 minutes. She was transported to an area hospital.
