A woman was injured after a fire in her kitchen quickly grew out of control in Fitchburg, Massachusetts on New Year's Day.
Units were called to 106 Abbott Ave. and police arrived to find fire coming from the back of the home.
The female occupant, who was on oxygen, was outside the home when firefighters arrived. She was treated and transported for burns and smoke inhalation.
Firefighters contained the fire to the kitchen, but the home suffered extensive smoke damage.
