House Fire Battled in New Jersey

  On Christmas night, a residential fire alarm was received at 2908 Carmon St. The crew of Ladder 3 found smoke showing from the first floor of a two-story ordinary constructed twin. Battalion 1 struck the all hands. Engine 11's crew led off with a 1 3/4" hand line as Ladder 3 personnel searched the first floor and opened up.A water supply was secured as a backup line was stretched. EMS was dispatched as the homeowner suffered burns to the hands. He were transported to a local hospital.

Command reported heavy fire conditions on the first floor extending to the second floor. Four hand lines were placed in operation. A fourth engine company was special called to the scene.

One firefighter received minor burns. One dog was found dead inside the house.

The American Red Cross was called for assist the displaced family.

The Camden City Fire Marshal’s office has the fire under investigation.
