Virginia Firefighters Respond to Crash

  On Dec. 14, a man from Pennsylvania was driving south on I-77 in the right lane when he slowed up, causing a tractor-trailer to pull into the passing lane to pass him.The driver of the car then turned into its path.The operator of the rig hit the brakes in an attempt to avoid a collision. However, it was unavoidable.It struck the car in the driver's side.

On Dec. 14, a man from Pennsylvania was driving south on I-77 in the right lane when he slowed up, causing a tractor-trailer to pull into the passing lane to pass him.

The driver of the car then turned into its path.

The operator of the rig hit the brakes in an attempt to avoid a collision. However, it was unavoidable.

It struck the car in the driver's side.

The HVFD had to use tools to cut the top off the car to get the driver out. He sustained life- threatening injuries, and was transported via ambulance.

The VSP investigated the accident.
