N.C. Firefighters Stablize Car

  Blowing Rock Fire & Rescue responded to a vehicle wreck Sunday morning on a cliff above Highway 321 in Blowing Rock, N.C.The driver of the vehicle was driving down a snow covered secondary road above the highway. He was not able to maneuver the curve due to the snow and slick conditions.The vehicle went down the embankment and through the woods. It rolled its side and came to rest on a tree instead of going over the cliff for a 70 foot drop to the highway.

The driver of the vehicle was driving down a snow covered secondary road above the highway. He was not able to maneuver the curve due to the snow and slick conditions.

The vehicle went down the embankment and through the woods. It rolled its side and came to rest on a tree instead of going over the cliff for a 70 foot drop to the highway.

It took rescue personnel about an hour to stabilize the vehicle so the man could get out safely.

He was not injured but transported to Watauga Medical Center for observation.
