Vacant Building Fire Hit in New Jersey

On Tuesday, Dec. 7, crews were dispatched in Camden City for a dwelling fire at 27th Street and Federal, right across the street from the firehouse.

Crews from Engine 9, Ladder 3, and Battalion 2 pulled out to find smoke coming from 4 N. 27th Street, a boarded vacant dwelling.

Personnel of Ladder 3 forced entry into the dwelling while the crew of Engine 9 reported heavy fire conditions on the second floor.

Battalion 2 struck the All Hands box.

The firefighters aboard Engine 11 secured a water supply while folks on Rescue 1 reported searches to be negative. Two hand lines were placed in operation to knock the fire.

The fire was placed under control with no reported injuries.

The Camden City Fire Marshals office has the fire under investigation.
