MD. Engine Collides With Car

  On Dec. 5, at approximately 6:45 p.m., Southside units respond to assist their own.While responding to a CO Detector Activated Call on Spruce St in Westernport, Engine 24-11 was involved in a motor vehicle collision at Rt 135 and Rt 36 intersection.The crew of  Engine 24-11 contacted communications and advised that they were involved in a wreck.The driver of the car and all of the firefighters were able to get out of their vehicles under their own power.

On Dec. 5, at approximately 6:45 p.m., Southside units respond to assist their own.

While responding to a CO Detector Activated Call on Spruce St in Westernport, Engine 24-11 was involved in a motor vehicle collision at Rt 135 and Rt 36 intersection.

The crew of  Engine 24-11 contacted communications and advised that they were involved in a wreck.

The driver of the car and all of the firefighters were able to get out of their vehicles under their own power.

The civilian as well as eight firefighters were transported to the hospital for check-ups.

Both vehicles were needed towed from the scene.

Allegany Bureau of Police handled the crash investigation.

Crews remained on the scene for approximately 90 minutes.
