Three Buildings Burn in New Jersey

  On Nov. 30, at 8:30 p.m. a dwelling fire was reported at the 500 block of Jackson St. Camden County Radio advised units multiple calls were coming in for a house on fire. Battalion 1 confirmed there was a two-story end of the row, vacant dwelling with heavy fire conditions extending to the attached exposures. He advised all units responding to use caution due to the smoke condition. The All Hands box was struck.

Companies set up for defensive operations as fire extended to two other dwellings. Crews secured water supplies and placed multiple 2 1/2" hand lines in operation. An additional Truck Company was called.

Car 3 reported a partial collapse of the front of the building.

The fire was held to three dwellings and did not extend to the occupied units.

The fire was placed under control with no firefighter injuries. The Camden City Fire Marshals have the fire under investigation.
