Detroit FFs Hit House Fire on Oct. 30

  On the evening of October 30, Detroit firefighters responded to a box alarm in the vicinity of Keystone and McNichols. They found a vacant house well involved.Engine 35's crew dumped their monitor to darken the fire that was illuminating the block.Ladder 30 personnel set up their stick to hit the fire from above, and to knock embers that were showering firefighters and photographers. The fire was knocked within 20 minutes, and crews remained on scene for a while longer mopping up.
