Deputy Chief Gerry Giunta reported heavy fire showing in the rear of the building.

Companies established a water supply from near-by hydrants and advanced a total of three inch-and-three-quarter lines.

The flames progressed quickly from the basement area and outside walls into the attic space. Ladder company crews performed ventilation by cutting holes in the roof at both ends of the structure. Extensive overhaul was performed inside.

Occupants were home at the time of the blaze.

Marblehead provided assistance on scene while station coverage was provided by the cities of Lynn, Peabody and Beverly.

The cause of the fire is undetermined but the point of origin is in the rear of the home.
