On Thursday, Oct. 28,at 9:14 a.m., Lima Fire Department was dispatched for a house fire at 7368 Evergreen St in the Village of Lima.
The crew aboard Lima Engine 235 reported flames from the roof area of the home.
A Culligan water delivery man driving by the residence turned in the alarm; and attempted to notify any occupants that may be in the home.
The homeowner was overcome by the situation and had to be treated by Lima EMS. A firefighter also sustained an injury.
The fire is under investigation by Livingston County Emergency Management and the Livingston County Sheriff's office.
Departments responding to the fire or on standby were Lima, East Avon, Honeoye Falls, Livonia, Rush, Mendon, Caledonia, West Bloomfield, Lima EMS and Honeoye Falls Mendon EMS.
