On Oct. 20, Buffalo firefighters responded to a house fire on Northampton Street between Michigan and Masten Avenues.
Crews reported heavy fire on the first floor of a 2 1/2 story occupied wood frame dwelling. Firefighters began an interior attack on the fire and a primary search for possible victims.
A broken gas line in the kitchen fed the fire, causing it to spread rapidly throughout the building.
Crews encountered heavy clutter and several propane tanks on the second floor.
Due to rapidly worsening conditions, command ordered all crews to exit the building. The fire was fought defensively.
No people were in the building at the time of the fire.
Damage was listed as $75,000 to the building and $75,000 to the contents. The cause is under investigation.
