Lyndon Fire & Rescue responded to a report of a structure fire shortly after 3:50pm. Major John Stich was the first command personnel to arrive on scene and reported smoke coming from a one story 100x50 taxpayer. The strip mall was home to the City of Plantation's offices along with two other businesses.

The first engine from Lyndon Station #2 arrived on scene only 5 minutes after dispatch. The firefighters pulled their lines to make an interior attack. After 10mins the decision was made to back out of the structure and switch to a defensive attack. According to Maj. Stich the fire was in the attic space and the building did not have any fire walls in the common attic. Units from Worthington Fire Department also responded to the scene.

More then thirty firefighters, with 4 engine and 3 truck companies, fought the blaze for more then one hour before it was brought under control. No one was injured in the fire.

Arson investigators are searching for a cause. The building is a total loss.
