Montgomery, NY -- On Wednesday May 11, 2005 students at Valley Central High School got a "dose of reality" delivered to them by the 4 Fire Departments in the Town of Montgomery.

The drill hosted by the Walden, Montgomery, Coldenham and Maybrook Fire Departments, Town of Montgomery Ambulance Corps & Mobile Life Support Services featured a staged two car accident with injuries and entrapment.

Seniors from Valley Central watched as fellow classmates acted as victims who were treated for their injuries and extricated from the two vehicles. Orange County Coroner J. Horan even went as far as to put one student who was made up as a being fatally injured in a body bag and into a waiting hearse.

The final part of the program was two pieces of a car from a Fatal DWI accident last summer involving a former student from Valley Central being placed on display for students to get a close up look into the dangers of drinking and driving. This was graciously provided by Bob Reynolds Sr. of Quality Towing, Bob also serves as First Assistant Chief of the Montgomery Fire Department.
