Firefighters from Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue responded to a serious T-bone motor vehicle crash before noon today in Beaverton.

Firefighters from TVF&R's Stations 61 and 66 were called to the intersection of NW 158th Avenue and Schendel Road at approximately 11:20 a.m.

Firefighters found a large utility truck in the intersection and a small Toyota pickup truck roughly 50 feet off the road in some grass.

The driver of the pickup truck had sustained serious injuries and could not be safely removed from the vehicle without hydraulic extrication equipment.

The driver of the larger utility truck was not injured. There were no passengers in either vehicle.

Firefighters worked quickly to care for the man in the truck as they removed the truck's roof and carefully removed him.

He was transported to Legacy Emmanuel Hospital with life threatening injuries.

Beaverton Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
