Pennsylvania Firefighters Extinguish Car Fire

Shortly after 4 PM on Thursday March 27, 2003 Paoli fire company was dispatched to a reported car fire on southbound Rt 202.

Shortly after 4 PM on Thursday March 27, 2003 Paoli fire company was dispatched to a reported car fire on southbound Rt 202.

Chief 3 arrived on scene to find a sport utility vehicle with fire showing from the engine compartment that was rapidly spreading to the passenger compartment and surrounding brush.

First due engine 3-1 arrived on scene and its crew immediately attacked the fire using a 2" line with piercing nozzle, while the brush fire was contained and extinguished using a 1" booster line.

Engine 3-2 arrived on scene and its crew assisted with overhaul and clean-up. The vehicle, a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer with only 500 miles on it, was a total loss. The lone occupant of the vehicle was unhurt.
