Calif. Firefighters Respond to Structure Fire

  The call came in to Santa Barbara County 9-1-1 as a commercial structure fire in the 800 block of Guadalupe Street in the City of Guadalupe.Units on the first alarm included Guadalupe Engine 1, Santa Maria City Engine 1 and Battalion 211, Santa Barbara County Medic Engine 22 and Battalion 511. The officer aboard Guadalupe Engine 1 established command.The building was home to the historic Royal Theater, a local landmark that's been used by various businesses in recent years.

Units on the first alarm included Guadalupe Engine 1, Santa Maria City Engine 1 and Battalion 211, Santa Barbara County Medic Engine 22 and Battalion 511.

The building was home to the historic Royal Theater, a local landmark that's been used by various businesses in recent years.

Fire was discovered inside the walls on the west side of the building, and GFD's crew stretched lines and started to pull walls and ceilings to chase the fire.

SM City Engine 1 was assigned roof, and SBCo Medic Engine 22 assisted with establishing water supply and searching for the fire.

Battalions 211 and 511 took ver command, and requested a truck company from Arroyo Grande, Truck 66.

A crowd of local residents gathered along Guadalupe Street as crews dealt with temperatures in the 90s. They searched for hidden fire.

The fire was confined to one wall and part of the attic, and quickly knocked, resulting in minimal damage.

The fire is believed to be caused by electrical problems. Guadalupe Police blocked Guadalupe Street for over an hour to allow firefighters to work. No injuries were reported.
