Two outbuildings, a grainery and a large heavy timber barn, were donated to be burned down for training. The grainery was used to train on interior attack strategies, while the large barn was ignited and allowed to enter a free burn stage and then attacked with one 2 1/2" line and the available 750 gallons of water carried on the Syracuse Volunteer Fire Department engine. Syracuse also had both of their 1800 gallon tankers shuttling water from a water supply.

Other water was supplied by the Burr Volunteer Fire Department
