March 30, 2005 - At 12:11 pm, Company 7 was dispatched to Route 4 and Ball Road for a vehicle fire.

Engine 71 arrived on location, southbound Rt. 4, with smoke showing from the receptacle area of a trash truck.

The engine crew threw two ladders to gain access to the top open portion of the truck.

A working fire was found inside and the crew pulled a cross-lay to start extinguishment. Tanker 7 arrived on location to supply Engine 71 while a foam nozzle was added to the cross-lay and foam was used to knock the rest of the fire located in the back of the truck.

The crew stood by while the contents were being unloaded from the truck. The crew sifted through wetting any potential hot spots.

The engine returned to service at 1:52 pm.
