Warwick, New York Fire Department Performs Difficult Extrication

Callers had reported a vehicle into a pole with people trapped. It was immediately apparent on arrival that the extrication process was going to be a challenge.

A Dodge pick-up truck had broadsided a Ford pick-up at an intersection, forcing both vehicles off the road and crushing the Ford against a utility pole. During the accident the Ford rolled onto its passenger side causing its windshield and roof to strike the pole first.

The drivers of both vehicles had exited on their own power, but two passengers in the Ford were pinned with their legs caught beneath the dashboard.

Unable to move the Dodge or the pole without further endangering the victims, the removal of the truck
