New Jersey Firefighters Extinguish House Fire

  The fire companies of Cologne, Laureldale, and Mays Landing of the Township of Hamilton Fire Department in Atlantic County, N.J. responded to 2559 Long Ave. on Sept. 8 at 2:30 a.m. for a structure fire.The occupant stated the deck and the back of his house were on fire.Firefighters were met with a one-story dwelling with fire in the structure.Several handlines were pulled from Cologne's two engines, two for suppressing the dwelling fire, and another for suppressing a wildland fire.

The fire companies of Cologne, Laureldale, and Mays Landing of the Township of Hamilton Fire Department in Atlantic County, N.J. responded to 2559 Long Ave. on Sept. 8 at 2:30 a.m. for a structure fire.

The occupant stated the deck and the back of his house were on fire.

Firefighters were met with a one-story dwelling with fire in the structure.

Several handlines were pulled from Cologne's two engines, two for suppressing the dwelling fire, and another for suppressing a wildland fire.

A water tender operation kept fire suppression forces ongoing, and the two small utilities of Laureldale & Mays Landing lit the scene and kept firefighters SCBAs filled.

Responding and assisting were firefighters from Cologne, Laureldale, Mays Landing, Germania, Pomona, Elwood, Hamilton Twp. EMS, Hamilton Twp. Police, Hamilton Twp. Fire Police, and the Cologne Fire Company's Ladies Auxiliary.

This was the third multi-alarm fire in Atlantic County in the past 24 hours.
