Just after midnight, Squad 8, Chief 8 and Chief 8A responded to Co 26's area at 7102 Foster St for report of a house on fire. E263 arrived with heavy fire from the second floor.

The fire had actually dropped to the first floor and met the units at the front door. Squad 8 went up the stairs with E263 to perform a search and encountered heavy fire conditions throughout the entire second floor. E263 began to knock the fire as the squad crew looked for anyone trapped. After some problems with their handline, E371 was able to advance a line and assist with knocking the fire on the other side of the house with E171 as well.

The fire was knocked and under control in about 10 minutes and all of the occupants were located and safe. Extensive overhaul was needed and units did not clear until 0330 hours.

Chief 8 had the command, Chief 8A had interior, and Chief 5A had safety.
