Texas Tire Fire

On February 3rd, 2003, at 0459 hrs, Engine 2 was dispatched to a grass fire at 316 Pecan Street. In route to the reported grass fire the Engine company could see a large column of smoke, with flames shooting approximately 100 feet into the air.

On February 3rd, 2003, at 0459 hrs, Engine 2 was dispatched to a grass fire at 316 Pecan Street. In route to the reported grass fire the Engine company could see a large column of smoke, with flames shooting approximately 100 feet into the air. Upon arrival, the Lieutenant on Engine 2 upgraded the call to a structure fire for a large tire retread facility with approximately 2000 tires fully involved on the outside of the structure. The Structure was the primary exposure and was in immediate danger.
