Camden, NJ Firefighters Encounter Unusual EMS Assist

Shortly after 12 noon Engine Co. 7 was dispatched to assist Camden's EMS on a transport case to Cooper Trauma Hospital.

Shortly after 12 noon Engine Co. 7 was dispatched to assist Camden's EMS on a transport case to Cooper Trauma Hospital.

What firefighters didn't know was that this would be a very unusual assignment. Upon arrival they were told by the EMS Supervisor that their was a 700 pound male who needed hospital treatment and had to be removed from the dwelling.

A Special Call was made for Ladder Co. 3, Rescue 1 and Battalion 1.

It took fourteen (14) firefighters and four (4) EMS personnel to remove the patient.

Engine Co. 7 and Rescue 1 followed the EMS to Cooper Trauma Hospital to assist them at the hospital.
