The impact of the crash brought down a wall, waking up shocked residents.

Utilizing the "Jaws of Life" it took Santa Monica Firefighters 45 minutes to extricate both victims and transport them in stable condition to local area hospitals.

Damage was extensive.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the early morning crash.
