On February 06, 2003, The Vista Fire Department in conjunction with the City of Vista Waste Water Division held a Trench Rescue Drill.

The incident was conducted in the area of a sewage treatment area and simulated a worker trapped below grade during an excavation project.

The City of Vista continues to experience rapid commercial growth. The construction activity that supports this growth continues to challenge the Vista Fire Department by presenting rescue and medical responses to construction sites.

Vista Fire Crews working as a team with the Vista Waste Water Division pooled equipment and staff to conduct a prompt and safe trench rescue incident. This incident combined entrapment, confined space and extrication.
