Camden City, N.J. Firefighters Dispatched to Dwelling Fire

On Sunday, July 25, 2010 at 2:46 p.m. the Camden City Fire Department was dispatched for a dwelling fire at 120 York Street in North Camden with reports of people trapped.

Battalion 2 crews reported a two-story, middle of the row dwelling with heavy fire showing from the second floor. An additional ladder company was added on the box.

The crew of Engine 6 secured a water supply and led off with a 1 ¾” hand line. Both ladder companies were put to work placing ground ladders and opening the roof. The rescue personnel performed searches in the fire building as well as the exposures.

All occupants were out of the dwellings and accounted for.

Three 1 ¾” hand lines were placed in operation to bring the fire under control.

One firefighter was treated and transported to a local hospital.

The Camden City fire marshals have the fire under investigation.
