New Jersey Firefighters Called to Crane Crash

On Friday, July 23, 2010 at 9:35 a.m. the Voorhees Fire Department was dispatched for a crane that had crashed into the Olive Garden Restaurant at 202 Laurel Oak Rd.

Companies arrived to find the crane resting on the top of the building with the vehicle suspended in the air being supported by the outriggers.

The crane had been lifting an HVAC unit to the roof when the truck tipped. Witnesses stated that they saw the truck lift off the ground followed by a loud crash.

Two other cranes were called in to bring the truck back down to the ground.

EMS reported no injuries, and the interior of the building was not damaged. The Voorhees building inspector was specially called to the scene.
