New York Firefighters Respond to Fatal Crash

A late night crash killed the sole occupant of a car in Rochester, N.Y. on Saturday, July 17, 2010.

Engines 1 and 17, Rescue 11 and Battalion 1 were dispatched at about 11:30 p.m. to a crash at Portland Ave. near Central Park.

Engine 17 arrived to find the vehicle on the driver's side, wedged between a tree and a snapped light pole.

The power was shut off by the Rochester Gas and Electric company as crews removed the driver from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
