Daytona Beach Fire Department units responded just before 2:30 the morning of July 12, 2010 for a reported structure fire in the 400 block of Lockhart St.

Initial reports stated there was a fully-involved structure fire at this location, but upon arrival of the first responding units, firefighters found a midsize sedan underneath an attached carport fully involved, and not the entire structure.

Daytona Beach firefighters made a quick, aggressive attack on the fire and were able to confine it to the carport area. DBFD firefighters conducted a search of the structure for possible extension into the house but found no extension.

Four residents, who were inside the home at the time of the fire, were treated and released on scene by paramedics for smoke inhalation. Due to smoke damage inside the home, the residents will be staying with friends and family in the area. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office. No injuries were reported.
