Philadelphia Firefighters Battle 4-Alarm Warehouse Fire

On June 28, Philadelphia firefighters were alerted to a warehouse fire in the Strawberry Mansion section of the city at 3000 N. 34th Street at 2 p.m. Crews found heavy smoke and fire from the warehouse. Battalion 8 started striking extra alarms as fire was consuming the warehouse. Companies secured water supplies and began to set up for defensive operations as walls were starting to collapse.

Crews found heavy smoke and fire from the warehouse. Battalion 8 started striking extra alarms as fire was consuming the warehouse.

Companies secured water supplies and began to set up for defensive operations as walls were starting to collapse.

The blaze reached four alarms as companies surrounded the 150x5000 square-foot warehouse with Ladder Pipes and master streams.

Multiple rehabs and EMS units were requested to the scene as temperatures were in the 90s.

There were 130 firefighters called to battle the blaze, which was placed under control at 3:55 p.m.

The local power company was called to secure the power for more than 100 dwellings as firefighters were still battling the fire.

The building was occupied by a door manufacturing company.

The Philadelphia Fire Department has the fire under investigation.
