On January 31 2003 around 2130 hrs Engine 48 reported on the scene with a 1 story brick house with fire coming thru the roof. With the large amount of fire and the roof collapsing on the house preconnects were pulled to protect adjacent exposures. As Eng 47, Truck 22 and Rescue 1 arrived on the scene a 2 1/2 inch line was stretched and the deckgun off of 48s pumper was used.
A request was made by command for 1 additional Engine and Truck Company for manpower. Engine 24 and Truck 23 responded.
The fire was knocked down after fighting it for about an hour. The house was a total loss with no damage estimates at this time. The cause of the fire is not known at this time. There were no reported injuries.
