Florida Dive Team Recovers Sunken Truck

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Daytona Beach Fire Department Dive Rescue Team and Daytona Wrecker Service were called out to 450 Basin Street around 12:30 p.m. today to assist in the removal of a Ford F150 truck and trailer that went into the water off the Halifax Harbor Marina boat ramp.Witnesses said the owner of the vehicle was attempting to remove his fishing boat from the water when the truck and trailer began to slide. He was unable to stop the vehicle and both went into the water.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Daytona Beach Fire Department Dive Rescue Team and Daytona Wrecker Service were called out to 450 Basin Street around 12:30 p.m. today to assist in the removal of a Ford F150 truck and trailer that went into the water off the Halifax Harbor Marina boat ramp.

Witnesses said the owner of the vehicle was attempting to remove his fishing boat from the water when the truck and trailer began to slide. He was unable to stop the vehicle and both went into the water.

Dive team members battled zero visibility to find the submerged vehicle about 15 feet down and 30 feet away from the ramp area.

Once the vehicle was located, tow straps and a heavy rescue crane were was used to pull them out of the water.

No injuries were reported.
