5 Alarm in Fire Maple Shade, New Jersey

On January 25,2003, just after 11am, a fast moving fire quickly spread through the Village of Stony Run Apartments.

On January 25,2003, just after 11am, a fast moving fire quickly spread through the Village of Stony Run Apartments. The apartments are located just off of Rt 73 in Maple Shade, NJ in Burlington County.

Fire companies from all over Burlington County and Camden County firefighters fought the blaze for over 4 hours.

150 Firefighters battled the blaze and at the height of the fire 5 Ladders, 2 Squirts and many hand lines were working the blaze.

About 33 apartment units were destroyed and 60 people were left homeless.

This was the 5th major fire in the last few years to strike this apartment Complex. Last March 2002 a 4-alarm blaze hit another part of the commplex destroying 20 of units.
