Ocala Fire Rescue Responds to Fire in Vacant House

 A fire in a vacant house was the cause of smoke in the northwest portion of the city the afternoon of Tuesday, May 11.Ocala Fire Rescue responded to the fire at 3:15 p.m. and arrived five minutes later to find flames shooting above the roof of the concrete block structure. The fire occurred at 3049 Northwest Old Blitchton Road.The firefighters searched the interior to ensure no one was inside, and there were no injuries. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
