Nassau County, FL Fire & Rescue Battle Multi-House Blaze

On Sunday, January 19, 2003 at 0240 hours firefighters received an alarm for a house fire.

On Sunday, January 19, 2003 at 0240 hours firefighters received an alarm for a house fire.

Firefighters from station 20 arriving at 0244hrs found one house with heavy fire conditions as exposures were quickly becoming part of what would be three houses on fire.

Nassau County Fire & Rescue units assisted by the City of Fernandina Beach, City of Jacksonville Fire Deptarments, as well the Nassauville and Yulee Volunteer Fire Departments. Units worked to protect exposures and kept the fire to the house of origin.

The Florida State Fire Marshals office investigator ruled a electric space heater was the source of the fire.

A total of 23 firefighters responded to the fire. There were no injuries reported.
